Luncheon Celebration
The October 12th Luncheon sponsored by various women’s organizations, including BPW/Ohio, was to celebrate the passage of the Anti-Human Trafficking Legislation. The luncheon was at the Fawcett Event Center in Columbus.
In addition to BPW/OH sponsors included Action Ohio Coalition for Battered Women, League of Women Voters, Ohio Women, Incorporated, Council of Ohio’s YWCAs, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Ohio, and more.
The luncheon was followed by a three-member panel discussing the current status of Human Trafficking and what still needs to be done in Ohio. The panelists were State Representative Teresa Fedor, Toledo, and Sponsor of Anti-Human Trafficking Bills, Trisha Smouse of the Salvation Army Anti-Human Trafficking Manger and Central Ohio Rescue & Restore Coalition; and Melinda Sykes, Director of Children’s Initiatives Ohio Attorney General’s Office.
